To illustrate some of the ways in which our Land Rover engineered models come out ahead, we've put together this side-by-side comparison, pitting our latest Defender SUV models against the new Ford Bronco. The Land Rover Defender and the Ford Bronco, Side by Side

  • Towing capacity. With a top towing ability of more than 8,000 pounds, the Land Rover Defender can help you bring your favorite small camper or boat along for weekend adventures. It's useful and more capable than the Ford Bronco, where the towing capacity hovers around 3,500 pounds.
  • Seating capacity. Whether or not you have a family, the Defender is a flexible and accommodating SUV for everyone. You can seat up to seven people in the Land Rover model, thanks to its optional third row. But the Bronco seats a maximum of five people, with no optional third row. Additionally, the Land Rover also has a six-passenger and a five-passenger configuration to choose from as well.
  • Style. Both SUVs offer a rugged stance and an up-for-anything design, with both two-door and four-door models available on either SUV. But while the two-door Bronco seats just four people, and the four-door seats five, the Defender has three seating arrangements available, including the five-passenger, six-passenger, and seven-passenger arrangements.
  • Power and performance. While drivers can look forward to a choice of engines on either of these SUVs, the Land Rover Defender options deliver more power and ability. Starting with the base powerplant, both the Bronco and the Defender have a turbocharged four-cylinder standard. But while the Defender offers 296 horsepower, the Ford has 270 horsepower. From there, both models have an optional upgrade available in the form of a turbo V6. But, again, the Defender produces a robust 395 horsepower, compared to the Bronco model's top power output of 310 horsepower.
  • Safety features. The high level of detail on the Land Rover goes beyond seating and power to include the number of impressive safety features that come standard on every model. While both the Ford Bronco and the Defender have a list of advanced safety features standard, the Defender has more. Look for a 360-degree camera system, lane keeping assistance, a blind-spot monitor, and more standard for the Land Rover, while many of the more advanced features are only optional for the Ford.
