Legendary Land Rover Defender Makes Triumphant Return

Exploring Glen Cove has never been more exciting. Nearly 4 years after halting production, Land Rover is reissuing its iconic Defender series of luxury SUV, just in time to appeal to the explorer inside. The 2020 Land Rover Defender was last seen on lots in 2016. Land Rover realized what it was missing and brings back the Defender with its Defender 90 and Defender 110 models. Both models bring you luxury and power as you embark on your next journey.

The 2020 Land Rover Defender brings you two different models, with the two-door Defender 90 and four-door Defender 110, and a series of six different trim levels for each. The Defender 110 brings you a 296-horsepower four-cylinder engine. The bigger engine comes in the two-door Defender 90. It carries a mild-hybrid six-cylinder engine. It combines 395-horsepower with a 48-volt lithium-ion battery.

Where your drive will get real exciting is in the various drive options as part of the Terrain Response 2 system. It allows you to tackle Gravel, rocky terrain, the snow of a Glen Cove winter and a variety of other environments. There are also four accessory packs that can take you anywhere. The Explorer pack gives you a roof frack, wheel arch protectors, and a matte-black hood decal. The appropriately-named Adventure Pack stores a 1.7-gallon water reservoir for portable rinsing, a trunk-mounted air compressor and side-mount gear carrier. Choosing the Country pack brings you the wheel-arch protectors, rinse system, a rear scuff plate and load space partition. The Urban pack provides a scuff plate, spare wheel cover and undershield for the front of your Defender. Those are features that are sure to get you excited.

You know the Defender won't shy away from any challenging terrain. But it also rises to the challenge of towing. It has the ability to tow your water toys out to Mosquito Cove, Glen Cove Creek or your favorite spot for fishing, jet skiing or just a day on the water. The power provided by the Land Rover Defender gives you the capability to tow up to 8,201 pounds behind you. Inside, you'll find a payload of 1,984 pounds.

The Defender still gives you the luscious interior you expect to find in a Land Rover model. The new PIVI Pro Infotainment system makes its premiere in the Defender and is highlighted by a 10-inch touchscreen and smartphone integration.
